A sensitive and selective electrochemical method for the simultaneous determination of
dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) was developed using a pyrogallol red modified carbon
paste electrode. Under the optimized conditions, the peak current was linearly dependent on
1.0–700.0 μmol L− 1 DA and 50.0–1000.0 μmol L− 1 UA. The detection limits for DA and UA
were 0.78 μmol L− 1 and 35 μmol L− 1, respectively. Finally, this method was also examined
for the determination of DA and uric acid in real samples such as drugs and urine.
